# Changing your current status (activity status)

**Your activity status is an optional add-on next to your [current availability](/en/article/changing-your-availability-eg-available-or-away-5zu0qg/), which appears to your team members as an emoji with a short text next to your profile picture. It lets them know what you are doing right now, or eg. what's your plan for the week.**
